We have known each other since we were 11 years old. Without mentioning her name, she too adores her privacy, I am asking for your PRAYERS.

I don’t care if you are a Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, or part of any other religion. If you believe in God, you should believe in prayer. My little prayer would not be enough. But if all of us pray, it may cause a little jab in God’s side.

We need to yell. We need to scream.

She wrote this an hour ago:

“Anyway, long story short, something was found.  So the good news is that I’m not crazy and I was right that there is SOMETHING going on in my body.  The bad news is that it might be bad.  I don’t know yet.  Basically, two bits of recent blood work came back insanely high for inflammation.  (And, mind you, I only got that blood work after INSISTING on it when I saw my neurologist…I told her what to look for…).  And I have a swollen thyroid and some of my lymph nodes in my neck seem a little swollen.  I made the mistake of googling when I got home and now I’m totally freaked out that it is very serious.  My mom’s doctor said that he wanted to review all the tests (there are a bunch of them over the last 1.5 year period….) and talk to my neurologist and then he will call me by the end of the week with a plan of action.
My RA factor was high two years ago and I went to a rheumatologist at that time and he told me that it was “nothing” and that I didn’t even need to follow up with him because I “didn’t have rheumatoid arthritis.”  which was happy to hear, of course.  But it seemed weird that I had such a high number (you are supposed to have less than 14…and my number was 271).  But he said that it could just be a reflection of an illness or something else going on that caused the inflammation.  But, at that time, in 2016, I didn’t have a high c-reactive protein level.  this was BEFORE my headaches/dizziness started.
Now my RA factor is 811 and my c-reactive protein level is off the charts high.  So my body is full of evidence of inflammation.  Which usually means, it is fighting an illness, disease, injury.  So we need to find that source of that fight.
In my mind, it might be rheumatoid arthritis or maybe a problem with my thyroid.  But this much inflammation can also be a marker for cancer.  So I’m totally afraid.
I think he will call me this week and tell me to go get an ultrasound of my thyroid and an MRI of my head (he mentioned these things).  I also think he will refer me to a rheumatologist asap.
Anyway, I am totally freaking out.  Can you please say a little prayer for me so that I’m not going to find out something terrible.”
Pug for P
My dearest, oldest friend is a single working mom – a great provider. If she knew I was doing this, she would kill me. But I don’t care.
Please pray for her.
Thank you so much.
