“I am 51 and have been officially in menopause since my cycles have been gone for a year…

I’ve been having hot flashes/night sweats for at least four years but I don’t remember ever hearing that being disorganized or confused thinking was one of the symptoms and I would like to know if there were any women who experienced that.

I’ve read on websites about ‘brain fog’ during menopause but wasn’t really sure if my symptoms were the same thing. I just cannot get it together. So many things that I need to do pop into my head then I start another thing before finishing the first… so much so that I have a multitude of unfinished projects on my plate and it is effecting my job. Any suggestions would be lovely and appreciated.” -Christine

  1. I have a lot of problems with memory and brain fog but went through menopause 11 years ago. Some of my problems come from the ms I have recently been diagnosed with.

  2. All of the above are on my plate.
Dealt with one thing at a time
Used a list system to do this.
    Getting there ….slowly.
COVID blew it all out of the water
    Soooo….restarting with same scheme.
Try not to stress out so much.it helps.🌹

  3. Totally agree with Maggie, lists too are my go to and whenever possible doing something from start to finish….which in today’s work environment can be challenging. I have found that my sleep patterns have changed and because I am still working if had to pace myself differently. I don’t at this time take on as many extra curricular activities and as much as possible maintain a regular routine, even when travelling. Regular and not necessarily strenuous activity makes a big difference and changes in my diet, smaller portions and as little as possible refined sugar. It’s definitely a time of change, but once you find what works best and your new rhythm it’s also a time of great freedom. A mantra I often keep in mind is…..be patient with yourself as evolve.

  4. I’m 55 and yup that is me as well. Cant complete sentences, always fishing for the right words, and so disorganized often. Lists are my best friend…as I think of things I write it down and check things off, helps me to focus and complete things before moving to next. Won’t even put my laundry basket away till I get all the laundry off the lines. Do feel like quarantine has made this all worse.
