Big Bird in Central Park

Moment of Disbelief

I actually took this photo last October in Central Park. It was a sight to behold. I think Big Bird must’ve gotten lost on his way to Sesame Street no doubt…

Have you ever had one of those moments when you think to yourself, “I can’t make this crap up, I have seen everything now.” – And when you see this “aha” moment, it actually catches you off-guard so you follow up (in your head), “if I should die today, I will not have missed a dang thing.”

Before the humidity takes control of our lives for the next six months, we Floridians tend to open our windows to let the AC “air out” a bit and give it a break before abusing it slowly over hurricane season from June 1 to November 30.

Last week, around 9:00am, I was taking my kids to school, driving through neighborhoods to cut through school traffic when I happened to have had one of THOSE moments. I actually drove slower because I had to take it all in.

As I was driving closer towards the house I noticed that they had their garage door wide open, not entirely strange for this time of year. Car was parked in the driveway. But something just looked odd. As I got closer, that’s when I noticed the sectional sofa – as in you could seat five men comfortably. Not like a little loveseat or two chairs – but an entire sectional sofa with the back facing the road.

I thought to myself…. A sofa in the garage – and it’s so huge – what the heck??? I move a little closer and then I saw why the back of the sofa faced the road – there was a flat screen TV on the opposite wall!

Holy crap.

I said to my boys, “well kids, I’ve seen everything now. I can die today.” They ignored me naturally.

Told my husband this story and he thought I was crazy to have thought what I saw was crazy. He said it was a ‘man cave’ and that was that.

If you liked this little article, I would be grateful if you shared it with your friends.
