Trying to Help

“Have you had any people/relatives coming in during the pandemic and taking elderly family or friends out to group lunches without notifying their children…

I realize they’re meaning to lessen their isolation and depression, but they are exposing them to potential COVID-19. It would be far better to call them or drop off a meal or dessert for them to enjoy.

Some of our elderly parents have a hard time rationally considering the consequences of this so called “safe” meeting when they’ve stayed in for so long to stay safe. I can bear the scorn of those who are “trying to help” better than having my parents contract COVID. If they had called me, I would have said no and most likely that’s why I wasn’t contacted. This is so unfair to my parents to be put on the spot like this.”
